New Lower Minimum Order on Holiday Cards

Wednesday, November 9th, 2011

holiday cards pro photographers print labYou’ve told us that your clients don’t order as many holiday cards as they used to. Therefore, we’ve adjusted our order quantities for flat cards, designer cards, and folded greeting cards. This includes graduation, thank you, holiday or any special occasion cards (does not include slimline cards). See MyDigitalProductsOnline.com for all our card designs.

You can now order cards in sets of 4 in ROES. This means you can order as few as 4 cards!

Although we’ve lowered our minimum order, we haven’t raised our prices. In fact, the price for 24 cards will remain the same, and for larger quantities, in many cases our prices are even lower than before!

We’re confident this change will make it easier – and more profitable – for you to offer folded greeting cards to your clients.

Note that slimline card printed on Kodak paper were not included due to their already low price per card.

New Product: Designer Cards

Tuesday, October 11th, 2011

holiday senior portrait photo cardsJust in time for the holidays! Our new Designer Cards are perfect for holiday, seniors, new birth or wedding announcements. You can leave the back side plain, use a pattern, or create your own text image in Photoshop to provide a holiday greeting or directions to an event.

Why offer Designer cards? Simply because they get noticed! These 5×7″ cards are sure to be stuck to a refrigerator as an event reminder, or they will stand out when placed along side other holiday cards.

Designer cards are available in sets of 24 cards with envelopes. Each set is $28.50 for standard paper. Coating, pearl or linen paper is $3.50 extra per set.

Designer cards are available in ROES under Press Printed > Cards > Double Sided.

Sports Undergrad Coin Envelope Flyers Changed for 2011

Tuesday, August 23rd, 2011

sports undergrad photography coin envelopeOur Coin Envelope/Flyers for Sports and Undergrads have changed for the 2011-2012 season. If you use these envelopes, you should change your layouts now.

The previous envelopes included a 3” coin envelope tear-off at the bottom. The new stock this year will include a 5” envelope tear-off for sports, and a 6” envelope tear-off for Undergrads. All envelope/flyers will still be 14″ tall by 8 1/2″ wide.

Download 5″ JPG template. Download 6″ JPG template.

This change was in response to your suggestions that we increase the size of the envelopes so you could get all of the necessary information on them.

We are now stocking only the new sizes.

We do have some small remaining stock of 3” Undergrad envelopes in various sizes for those of you looking to print your flyers without making this change. We have NO sports 3” in stock.

Use the above image as a reference when laying out your new flyers. If you have any questions or problems with the new layouts, contact Heidi Horton at 888-858-8084 or heidi@jdlab.com and she will be happy to assist you.

Emerald Album Combines Photo Book Cover and Photographic Prints

Wednesday, July 13th, 2011

JD Photo Imaging Emeral AlbumPress-printed photo books are great for senior albums, family albums and many other applications. But customers asked us if we could create a premium photo book that used real photographic prints on Kodak paper.

That’s why we created the Emerald Album.

Each page is printed on photographic paper, then mounted on a thin mount board. This results in an album with all seamless panoramic images, and pages starting on the left side. The front and back inside covers and first pages are white to give the album a finished look.

Emerald album covers are available in black, red or caramel leatherette, or you can create a custom photo cover.

See the Emerald or our complete line of photographic print albums here.

Order the Emerald album using our ROES software.

Don’t Risk Losing Your Sales Tax Exemption

Wednesday, June 8th, 2011

If you purchase albums, prints or service from JD for resale, or if you’ve checked “tax exempt” in ROES, you must sign and send us a new Michigan Sales and Use Tax Certificate of Exemption form so we won’t charge you sales tax. We recently sent you this form in the mail, or you can download it here.

The State of Michigan requires that we have on file a signed copy of this form so we can continue to exempt your studio from Michigan sales tax. Even if you’ve signed one in the past, we need a new one every 4 years. The form only takes a minute to fill out, and insures we are both in compliance with the law.

If you are a typical studio, you would answer the questions as follows: (more…)

Changes to JD Shipping Terms

Thursday, June 2nd, 2011

Due to the recent fuel price hikes, our shipping costs have gone up tremendously. Therefore, we have decided to use US Postal Service shipping for orders under $25 for 11×14″ prints and smaller.

Beginning June 20th:

• Orders over $25 will continue to be shipped FREE via UPS Ground
• Orders under $25 will now ship FREE US Mail Priority (You can choose UPS at checkout and pay actual shipping cost).
• Orders under $12 will continue to be charged a $12 minimum order

Most customers will not notice any changes. However, we encourage you to combine print orders when possible to minimize shipping fees.

JD Photo Contest Winner to Appear In Times Square

Thursday, May 5th, 2011

The image “Sisterly Love” by Michelle Garcia at Country Rose Designs was selected by Eastman Kodak as a finalist to be shown in Times Square, New York City.

Here’s the page on the Kodak website with all the winners. Michelle’s photo is listed under “Infant/Children.”

Kodak informed Michelle this week by email that her image had been selected. She is still waiting to find out exactly when it will be displayed. She plans to travel to New York City to see it.

The contest is part of Kodak’s “Connect with Pro Quality” initiative. The goal of the project is to remind consumers the importance of selecting a professional photographer to record important life events. .In addition to the photo contest, Kodak has produced a series of short videos featuring professional photographers talking about the benefits of Kodak labs (we’re one!) and Kodak products (we rely on Kodak paper).

Congratulations to Michelle, and too all our other winners too.
